Kenny Rogers - Pine tar cheater?
Monday, October 23, 2006

As you all have probably heard, there is big time controversy surrounding the possible use of pine tire on Detroits star pitcher, Kenny Rogers.

At first I dismissed it...but after the game, the more research I did, the more it convinced me that he indeed use pine tar on his hand for a better grip. Before you rant and rave, hear me out.

Yes, he washed it off after it was questioned- and yes he pitched great all night even after he washed whatever it was you know why he pitched great? Because even wiping the pine tar off would still leave an almost invisible residue that is still highly beneficial to his breaking pitches. It adds a whole new dimension of aerodynamics to the slow and breaking pitches.

Just because we didn't see it after the second inning, doesn't mean it was not there. Also, notice how much he touched his hat, and how he was always blowing into his hands (a little too much, even though it was cold) yeah, I am 100% convinced AND I also think he will eventually break down and admit it. At the very least, the MLB commission needs to investigate this a lot closer than what they have done so far.

Look at the comparison pictures to the right - the first one is from Sundays game, and the next is from ALCS game 3. VERY similar markings, and both nights he pitched amazingly....not too hard to draw conclusions if you ask me.

What do you think?
